Yes. Listing items, borrowing from friends and neighbours, messaging, tracking every loan from request through to return, and rating each other afterwards are all free and always have been. There is no fee to join and no commission on a loan.

No. NeighboursLoop is not a rental marketplace and there is no payment of any kind between members. Nobody charges you to borrow their drill, and you cannot charge anyone to borrow yours. There are no deposits held on the platform either.

NeighboursLoop Plus costs A$2.99 per month in Australia, billed monthly, and new subscribers get the first two months free. It is charged in your local currency at the equivalent price in the other countries the apps support.

Plus is optional. Everything in the free plan stays free whether or not you subscribe.

Plus extends discovery from your own circle of friends to your whole suburb. Free members see and search what their friends have listed; Plus members search every approved listing in the suburb, search by radius from 100 m up to 20 km, and can browse what a neighbour has listed before connecting with them.

Plus also generates a complete listing from your photos automatically, and gives you a Plus badge along with higher placement for your own listings in search results.

Plus is purchased inside the NeighboursLoop app — through the App Store on iPhone, or Google Play on Android. Your subscription is stored against your NeighboursLoop account, so it applies on the website as well as on your phone regardless of where you bought it.

Cancel the subscription the same way you would any other app subscription: in your Apple ID subscription settings on iPhone, or in Google Play subscriptions on Android. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your account then simply returns to the free plan.

Yes — new subscribers get two months free before the first charge, and you can cancel during that window without paying anything. Eligibility for the free period is determined by the App Store or Google Play, not by us.

Sometimes. We occasionally run campaigns that grant Plus free for a period to members who have listed items and are helping their neighbourhood get started. A promotional membership has nothing to cancel and is never charged; when it ends the account simply returns to the free plan.
